Practical AI governance

AI governance does not need to be bureaucratic. For most organizations, it means: a clear list of approved AI tools, guidelines for what data can be included in prompts, review requirements for different output types, a process for evaluating new AI use cases, and someone responsible for keeping these guidelines current.

Start simple. A one-page AI use policy that covers approved tools, data restrictions, review requirements, and escalation procedures is better than a 50-page framework that nobody reads. You can expand as AI use matures.
